Manipur finish seventh at Khelo India Youth Games

Manipur finished seventh in the 5th Khelo India Youth Games which wrapped up on Saturday at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
The state athletes collected 34 over the course of the Games.
13 gold, 9 silver and 12 bronze medals made up Manipur's total tally.
They won 5 gold, 1 silver & 1 bronze in Thang-Ta; 3 gold, 1 silver & 3 bronze in boxing; 3 gold, 1 silver & 3 bronze in fencing; 1 gold & 3 silver in weightlifting; 1 gold in football; 1 silver & 4 bronze in judo; 1 silver in gatka; and 1 bronze each in cycling and kayaking & canoeing.
Maharashtra clinched the overall championship title, taking home 56 gold, 55 silver and 50 bronze for a total of 161 medals.
Haryana claimed the second place with 41 gold, 32 silver and 55 bronze medals, followed by Madhaya Pradesh (G39, S30, B27), Rajasthan (G19, S10, B19), Delhi (G16, S22, B26), Kerala (G15, S12, B19) and Manipur (G13, S9, B12) .
The 5th Khelo India Youth Games, which began on January 30, was held at 23 venues across eight cities of Madhya Pradesh.
Over 5,000 athletes took part in 27 sports disciplines in the Games.
