Royal Rangers FC win 1st Late Stanhope Chawang Super Division League title

Senapati, August 21 2022:
Royal Rangers FC from Laii village (Poumai) emerged as champions in the 1st Late Stanhope Chawang Super Division League organized by District Sports Association Senapati by securing 16 points.
Senapati FC emerged nearest contenders amassing 13 points as Hills United FC (12 points) finished third.
Senapati FC (Reserve) who failed to register any points were relegated to the First Division League.
Tamuilong FC and Marahaangshii FC have been promoted to Super Division League for the next season after becoming champion and first runners up in the Senapati District First Division League which was participated by 14 teams.
The Super Division League tournament participated by 7 teams began on July 22 with MLA Karong AC J Kumo Sha gracing the inaugural programme as the chief guest at Mini stadium Senapati.
On the final day, Royal Rangers FC comfortably beat Athletico D Karong FC by 3-0 margin.
The day also saw Senapati FC defeating Hills United FC 1-0.He represented Nagaland and Nagaland Clubs in many football tournaments (Subroto Mukherjee cup from 1983-1985, new market football club (Kohima) 1986-1989, Santosh trophy as Nagaland team captain 1990, PHED department team from 1990-1996).He was also Zeliangrong football team captain in NSF Martyrs Trophy and led the team to title for three consecutive years (1994-1996) .
He served as the chief coach of Senapati District Olympic Association Manipur (SDOAM) till his last breath.
