11th Manipur Veteran Cricket Championship : Tombi's knock in vain as REYS go down to IWVCA

Despite a breezy 42 runs off 42 balls, REYS could not withstand the pentrative bowling of IWVCA to go down by 4 wickets in the 11th Manipur Veteran Cricket Championship today.
Winning the toss, REYS opted to bat and riding on a fine 42 runs off 42 balls from Tombi managed to notch up a total of 145 runs for the loss of ten wickets.
Tombi was ably aided by Chaoba who scored 24 runs off 36 balls, Amarjit 27 runs off 22 balls and Sanjit 11 runs off 7 balls to take the tally of REYS to 145 .
The other batsmen however could not capitalise on the fine show of Tombi as wickets fell at regular intervals, with Samatkumar leading the charge for IWVCA scalping four wickets.
Rajendro and Roni chipped in with two wickets each while Nabakumar and Basanta were among the wicket takers with one wicket each.
Set a target of 145, Basanta of IWVCA led the charge with a brilliant knock of 50 runs off 53 balls, followed by Rojikumar with 34 runs off 41 balls, Bungobi 25 runs off only 20 balls and Jinendra 9 not out off 12 balls for the loss of six wickets.
For REYS, Mujibur led the way scalping three wickets followed by Sanjit with 2 wickets.
