Lamka, January 29 2014:
Shedding the often mediocre stance Church has adopted when it comes to dealing with PLHIVs, the Evangelical Baptist Convention today launched a Care and support programme for community as it took the bold step of engagement with the often stigmatised people.
The programme will benefit 63 people, including 24 children and infants as of now, said, T Langsanglian, Secretary of LRRC.
He said, EBC-LRRC PLHIVs Care and Support programme is wholly funded by the Evangelical Baptist Convention with donations and contribution from the church members, and will be implemented by LRRC.

Monthly supply of essential nutrition, Infant formula (milk) and educational support are some of the regular benefits that will be extended to the beneficiaries, while the need based benefits extended will include provisions to support travel for treatment and medical expenses.
