Cabinet decision: Govt job for 4 film personalities & 5 Everesters

In a move to encourage the film makers, artistes and technicians of the State, the State Cabinet has resolved to offer government jobs to four film personalities who have bagged individual national film awards.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the State Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi at his Secretariat here this afternoon.
Taking to media persons after the meeting, Spokesperson of State Government Minister M Okendro said that four film personalities namely Kiranmala of Ishanou, Taorem Lekhendra of Imagi Ningthem, Leishangthem Tonthoinganbi of Phijeegi Mani and cameraman Irom Maipak of The Monpas of Arunachal would be given government jobs in recognition of their outstanding achievement at the national level.

Furthermore, the five mountaineers of the State who have scaled the Mount Everest, namely Chirom Shanker, Phairenbam Bidyachand, N Bidyapati, Nameirakpam Chingkheinganba and Mohon would also be given government jobs for their remarkable achievement.
PLHIV bodybuilder Khundrakpam Pradipkumar would also be appointed as Physical Education Teacher (PET) in Youth Affairs and Sports Department, he noted.
The Cabinet also resolved to request the Governor to summon the 7th Session of 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly from February 24, and approved opening of four police outposts at Lilong Chingkham, Waithou, Sora Khumuta and Oinam Sawombung under Thoubal district.
The appointment of Sudha Pillai as Consultant for Land Use Policy in the State and extension of retirement age of aided college teachers up to 65 years were also approved by the Cabinet today, Okendro added.
