Imphal, January 29 2014:
Police aspirants joined by their family members today staged sit-in-protest at a Thangmeiband Road bus waiting shed, opposite to THAU sports Complex, to demand declaration of the pending result of viva voce for the 2010 recruitment process of Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) in the Home Department.
Demanding that the viva voce be conducted within February 5, the protestors also cautioned that inaction to the genuine demand will constrain the candidates to launch series of agitation.
According to a candidate's family elder namely Khuraijam Mangi, viva voce for the ASIs' recruitment was conducted in 2010 along with the recruitment exercise for SIs and Jemadars.
Even though the viva voce result for SIs and Jemadars have already been declared the same for the ASIs is being kept in abeyance without any explanation from the Hope Department authorities, Mangi maintained.
It is said that a total of 483 candidates appeared for the ASI recruitment exercise and repeated intimations to meet the Minister concerned and the DGP to highlight their grievances have not be endorsed till date.
