Body builder Naresh accorded warm welcome

Longjam Naresh who clinched a gold medal (junior-tall) and also claimed junior overall title in the 66th National Fitness and Body Building Championship 2018 held at Bangalore was accorded a warm welcome today at Imphal Airport by many sports lovers of the State and by well wishers of his locality.
Latter, Naresh, a resident of Yairipok Kekru Makha Leikai was felicitated at Kekru Community hall by Kekru Development Youth Club and Kekru Yairi Club, Yairipok.
He was garlanded on his way to the community by many supporters.
The felicitation programme was attended by Konjengbam Ito, Councillor, Yairipok Municipal Council, Ward No 8, Athokpam Sunil, president, Yairi Club and other social workers of the region as dignitaries.

Around 300 players from across India took part in this championship jointly organised by Metro Flex Gym and Body Craft Gym, Bangalore at Dr Rajkumar Auditorium, Rajajinagar (Bangalore) under the supervision of Indian Fitness and Body Builders' Federation from February 10 to 11 .
Longjam Naresh is born to Longjam Nageshwar and Longjam Ongbi Memton.
Naresh trained at Lamyanba Gym, Yairipok Top Chingtha under Laitonjam Noren Meetei.
Nelson Oinam who was among the team sent by Manipur Amateur Body Builder Association (MABBA) bagged a bronze medal in the beginners category in his maiden National Championship organised by IFBF.
Sorokhaibham Gaganchandra who was also among the team could make it upto the fourth position in the super tall event of this championship.
National referee RK Rakesh who is also joint secretary of MABBA and NE zonal secretary of IFBF led the team as manager.
