CYCLONE outplay CHAMP by 3 wickets in Elite Tournament

CYCLONE got the better of CHAMP Cricket Club by three wickets in their MNCA Elite Tournament league match on Saturday at Public Ground Khangabok-3, Cherapur.
Asked to bat first, CHAMP struggled to cope with a disciplined bowling attack by CYCLONE, who bowled them out in 34.2 overs for 166.In the innings, Leikhram Johny Singh top-scored for his side with 47 (not out) while Nars-ingh Yadav and Md Sharoz Khan contributed 24 each.
CYCLONE'S fine bowling performance saw Kishan Laishram and Loktongbam Santosh Meitei scalp three wickets each as Kabrambam Homendro picked up two, and Bikash and Thounaojam Jenius took one apiece.
CYCLONE then closed out the chase in 33 overs with three wickets to spare.
Kabrambam Homendro impressed with an unbeaten 41, Bikash scored 32, Loktongbam Santosh collected 29 and Rohit Moirangthem contributed 12 in their successful run chase as Md Sultan Karim's five-wicket haul for CHAMP went in vain.
Homendro was adjudged the man of the match for his unbeaten 41 and two wickets.
