Imphal, February 25 2023:
Raj Medicity celebrated its 19th foundation day at the multipurpose hall of the private hospital at North AOC here on Saturday.
As part of the celebration, Health minister Dr Sapam Ranjan launched the hospital's new Raj Free Ambulance Service.
Speaking as the chief guest, minister Dr Ranjan informed that the government is aware about the importance of technology in the health sector, but it alone cannot help develop the sector.
It needs the support of private entities and the people.
The Covid-19 pandemic served as an eye opener and now both the public and private are working together in the right direction.
The pandemic also served as a reminder of the lack of development in the global health care system and as such, there have been numerous developments in health care across the world, including in a small state like Manipur.
Appreciating the efforts made by Raj Medicity during the pandemic, the health minister also lauded the hospital's contribution in delivering the benefits of PMJAY (Ayushman Bharat Scheme) and CMHT to the people.
He then stressed the need for cooperation between the government, private hospitals and NGOs in development of the health sector.
In his speech, Raj Medicity chairman and managing director H Rajen recounted the humble beginning of the hospital with 34 beds under the name of 'Raj Polyclinic' on February 25, 2004 .
Since then, it has increased the bed capacity to 150 beds and will be further raising it to 200 beds.
He continued that the hospital has been providing 24x7 Emergency and Trauma Centre in addition to providing best health care service with the latest medical equipment under its motto "Humanitarian Service with Dedication".
The celebration was also attended by Thanga MLA T Robindro.
