Interaction prog, unity cycle rally held

Loktak Battalion of IGAR (South) interacted with CSOs at Company Operating Base, Tuibong in Churachandpur district on Saturday to strengthen the camaraderie and bonding between Assam Rifles and CSOs of local communities.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the meeting was attended by 27 members of various CSOs of Churachandpur district and enabled a free and willing interaction between Assam Rifles and CSOs allowing various issues ranging from improving the education system, medical facilities and cordial relationship for improvement of the society in general.
The Company commander apprised the CSOs of the various tasks undertaken by Assam Rifles for the uplift of the local populace, comprising construction works, organising medical camps and educational facilities, employment opportunities provided by the Loktak Battalion.
Meanwhile, Loktak Battalion organised 'unity cycle rally' in collaboration with local youth clubs of Churachandpur and Bishnupur districts on Saturday.
The cycle rally from Kangvai to Sendra was flagged off by Loktak Battalion commandant in the presence of locals, officers and jawans of the Battalion.
The rally was aimed at spreading the message of unity and peace in the environment and society.
A total of 48 cyclists comprising 43 local youths, two serving officers and three other ranks of Assam Rifles participated in the event showing the spirit of national integrity and their patriotism towards the nation.
Such events have been orgainsed time to time to promote mutual cooperation and Coordination and social unity among the people and to have a cordial bonding and relationship, the release added.
