SHADOW, SDC cruise in MNCA Plate Tournament

SHADOW (Thang-meiband) and SDC (Laipham Khunou) recorded comfortable wins in the MNCA Plate Tournament on Monday.
SHADOW dominated YWC (Yaiskul) by five wickets in their Group A meeting at Lu-wangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
The Thangmeiband side churned out a concerted bowling performance to dismiss YAC for 95 in 25.5 overs after the latter opted to bat.
Sagatpam Lanchenba led the SHADOW attack scalping three wickets for his side while Reolin Oinam, Rahul Kumar and Paras Sharma claimed two wickets apiece, with Guite Khualminlian accounting for one as their collective effort paved the way for their victory.
YWC's dismal innings witnessed all their batters got out without scoring a run except for Joychandra Ngangom (29), Reebanta Yumnam (18 not out) and Krishnananda Khwairak-pam (18) .
In reply, SHADOW took 17.4 hammering of K&MMRS and semifinal berth by closing out the game in style with two goals courtesy of Th Jacob and Kokeshwor.
MPSC-B, meanwhile, strolled to an 11-5 win over Paradise Polo Club-A on their way to the final four.
H Abung Khuman made the most of the rout, producing a six-goal blitz as teammate T Pradeepkumar impressed with four goals and Th Romen Singh contributed one.
On the other hand, four of Paradise PC's goals were scored by K Samananda, with H Sanjoy getting the remaining one.
MPSC-B and X Polo Club will square off in the first semifinal on January 27 .
Paras Sharma top scored for the winning team with a knock of 34, followed by Reolin Oinam 920), Rk Nishikanta (8 not out), Yoihenba Thoudam (7), Guite Khualminlian (4 not out), Sagatpam Lanchenba (4) and Kh Devis (2) .
Paras Sharma earned the man of the accolade for his two wickets and 34 runs.
SDC, on the other hand, eased to a 69-run victory against KCDO (Kongpal) in a Group B match at Oriental College.
Electing to bat, SDC were all out for 155 in 31.2 overs as Konjengbam Monish (42), Khundrakpam Subhachandra (30) and Thangboy Doungel (13) all got into doubles figures for their side.
For KCDO, Ziaur Rahaman was the pick of the bowlers with a haul of five wick ets while Bikram Phamdom bagged two wickets, and Ne-taldt Konsam and BM Sagir Ahamed took one each.
Bollanath wreaked havoc on the KCDO top order.
The SDC pacer removed both the KCDO openers for a duck before he went on to take two more wickets.
Thangboy Doungel also made his mark with three scalps as Khundrakpam Subhachandra snapped two wickets and Don-ny bagged one in their 69-run triumph.
Netajit Konsam (21), Rosebel Sapam (18) and Mk Amal (ll) were the only batters who could score in double digits for KCDO.
Khundrakpam Subhachandra, who claimed two wickets and scored 30 runs, won the man of the match title.
