PIL on ITI Saikot facility closed

The Manipur High Court closed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed seeking directions to the state authorities to take immediate action for maintenance, renovation and upgrade of the infrastructure and buildings of ITI Saikot in Churachandpur district.
The PIL was filed by one Langthianmung Vualzong.
M Rakesh, counsel for the petitioner, drew the attention of the Court to the additional affidavit dated 03.11.2022, wherein the Deputy Secretary (Skills, Lab, Emp & Entrepreneurship), Manipur, furnished the details of the steps taken for upgrading of the ITI Saikot.
She stated that Rs 53 lakh was sanctioned for the upgrade of the ITI by construction of 3 classrooms and a workshop.
She further stated that a sum of Rs 46.28 lakhs was transferred to the Planning and Development Authority, Manipur, in that regard, after deductions.
Athouba Khaidem, Government Advocate, stated that, as per his instructions, the construction has also been carried out.
In the light of these developments, M Rakesh, counsel for the petitioner, stated that the issue raised in the petition stands settled and that no further order needs to be passed by the High Court.
Recording the said statement, the Division Bench of Justice Sanjay Kumar and Justice A Bimol Singh closed the PIL.
