Fitting tributes paid to Netaji

Moirang, January 23 2023:
The 126th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was observed today at INA Memorial Complex as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The observance was jointly organised by the Department of Art and Culture, INA Advisory Committee Moirang, Central Bureau of Communication, Regional Office, Imphal and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
As part of the observance, a photo exhibition with special focus oh Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was helc and later a souvenir Netaji and Freedom Struggle of India was released. The gatherings also paid floral tributes to the statue of Netaji.
A student of Diligent Public School Moirang, Irashini Laiphrakpam and retired Associate Professor of Moirang College Y Modhu Singh spoke about the life and contribution of Netaji.
A drama dedicated to Subhash Chandrs Bose was also staged as a part of the observance.
At the event, Moirang AC MLA Th Shanti said that Subash Chandra Bose was a remarkable person whose story has many chapters and important events like Geeta itself.
Saying that the quality of Netaji can be understood' only when his contributions to the freedom struggle is compared with others, the ML A conveyed that there is a need to rewrite the modem history of India as according to Prime MinisterNarendra Modi many histories of sacrifice and oppression were deliberately hidden in colonial-era history.
Apart from his bravery, Netaji was known for his discipline , Th Shanti said and maintained that Subash Chandra Bose taking a blessing from Mahatma Gandhi in a radio before declaring war against the British from Singapore is a testament of his character.
Commissioner of Art and Culture M Joy and LDA Chairman also attended the observance as presidium members.
