Manipur win overall champions title of 21st Sub-Junior National Wushu Championships

Imphal, April 03 2022: Manipur wushu players were crowned overall champions of the 21st Sub-Junior National Wushu Championships which was held from March 25 to 31 at Noorul Islam University, Tamil Nadu.

Manipur amassed 32 gold, 12 silver and 9 bronze medals in Taolu events of the said championship and 2 gold and 4 bronze medals in Sanda events, said Wushu Association of Manipur in a release.

L Pinky (Group B : Taijiquan, Taijijian) and Kh Hulison (Group C) won as many as four gold medals each in the Changquan, Jianshu, Qiangshu and Group Events for Manipur at the championship.

Lingthoingambi L (Group B), N Nikhil (Group B : Changquan, Jianshu and Qiangshu) and Renold H (Group C: Daoshu Gunshu, Group Event), RK Lanchenbi (Group C : Changquan, Daoshu and Gunshu) and Keya H (Traditional : Taichi type, Group event, Single Weapon) also won three gold medals each in various events of the championship.

Dallina P (Group B : Daoshu, Gunshu), Wangthoi Th (Group B : Daoshu, Gun-shu), S Lanchenba (Group B : Nandao, Nanquan), Nganthoiba N (Group B : Taijiquan, Taijijian), Y Inunganbi (Group C : Jianshu, Qiangshu), Lanchenbi Kh (Group C : Jianshu, Qiangshu), Bikash L (Traditional : Taichi type, Group event), Luhenbi M (Traditional : Southern Style, Group event) also managed two gold medal apiece as Britain M (Group B : Group Event), Jupiter E (Group B : Group Event), N Ahenbi (Group C: Group Event), M Manimatum (Traditional Group Event) and M Sanathoi (Traditional : Wingchun) bagged a gold medal each.

In Sanda events, Kh Jetish (below 48 kg) and T Silvia (below 56 kg) won gold medals as N Pamheiba (below 32 kg), N Borish (below 45 kg), H Debajani (below 36 kg) and K Dolly (below 52 kg) settled for bronze medals.

M Manoranjan and H Omega Meitei were the Taolu Manager and Coach who accompanied the State team while A Shyamchand and M Rameshchandra were Sanda Manager and Coach respectively.
