6th Women's International Polo Tournament : South Africa ease past Manipur-A 6-3 as IPA hold Luxembourg

South Africa pulled off a 6-3 win over Manipur-A in the opening match of the 6th Women's International Polo Tournament.
The tournament participated by 5 teams including South Africa, Luxembourg, Manipur-A, Manipur-B and Indian Polo Association (IPA) was formally launched by Chief Minister N Biren Singh today at Mapal Kangjeibung.
The opening match of the tournament saw skipper Amy Michelle Gace leading South Africa to a 6-3 win by scoring four goals alone.

Kh Habe gave Manipur a 1-0 first chukker lead and M Priya scored in the opening minute of the second chukker but South Africa fought back to draw level via goals from Vermaak Alida Brenda and Amy Michelle Gace within five minutes.
South Africa raced to a 5-2 lead after three chukkers with Amy Michelle adding twice and Vermaak Alida scoring one as Manipur-A drew blank.
Amy Michelle scored the team's 6th goal in the last minute of the final chukker which also saw Y Ranjita adding Manipur-A's third.
The second match between Luxembourg and IPA ended in a 5-5 draw as IPA rallied back in the final chukker riding on Ch Chaoba's brilliance.
Poggel Brigita Antonie starred for Luxembourg with a treble as Sandrine Natacha Dubois scored the other two while Kh Chaoba chipped in four goals to lead the IPA resurgence today.
With Brigitta Antonie scoring twice and Sandrine adding one Luxembourg were 3-2 ahead after the first chukker.
I Sangeeta and Kh Chaoba were the scorers for IPA in this chukker before Kh Chaoba completed her double in the second chukker to equalise the margin.
Sandrine and Brigitta then had their way to add a goal each in the third chukker to overturn the lead but Kh Chaoba hammered home twice in the last chukker to salvage a point for IPA.
