Licensees told to deposit firearms

Imphal, February 15 2023:
Noney and Kamjong district magistrates have instructed arm license holders to submit license and deposit the arms registered latest by March 1 at the police stations concerned.
In separate releases, Noney district magistrate Joseph Pauline Kamson and Kamjong district magistrate Rangnamei Rang Peter informed that re-verification of arms license possessed by authorised license holders issued as per the Arms Act, 1959 and Arms Rule, 2016 is required for review/validation/updation, etc.
The DMs also cautioned that the license(s) shall be deemed to be cancelled without further notice if not submitted before the specified period.
