Rescued Golden Eagle dies

Kakching, December 13 2021:
A matured but injured Golden Eagle (Aquila Chrysaetos) handed over to forest department by one Sagolsem Gogin of Wangoo succumbed to injuries on Monday.
According to assistant conservator of forests Naorem Munal Meitei, Golden Eagle is found very rare in Manipur and Sagolsem Gogin rescued a matured Golden Eagle which was found unable to fly in a local playground on Sunday.
The eagle suspected to have consumed insecticide was first spotted by children playing in the playground and Gogin handed over the bird to forest department for treatment.
However, the bird could not be saved and died in the wee hours of Monday.
