Book on Rani Gaidinliu released

Zeliangrong Baptist Churches Council of North East India (ZBCCNEI) general secretary Rev Dr NH Adui released a book on national freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu called 'Rani Gaidinliu: Queen of Broken Hills' written by Achun Kamei at Indoor Stadium Tamenglong on Monday.
The author was personal assistant (PA) of Rani Gaidinliu from 1975-77, and therefore knew well about the revered freedom fighter.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the release programme, Achun Kamei explained that "Rani Gaidinliu: Queen of Broken Hills" was published to remember Gaidinliu and her dream of uniting cognate tribes of the Zeliangrong namely Zeme, Liangmai, Rongmei and Inpui to live under one administration.
He recounted accompanying Rani Gaidinliu for a meeting with the then Prime Minister of India and other dignitaries to press the government for integrating the Zeliangrong people scattered in Assam, Manipur and Nagaland, physically and emotionally.
He said his book is based' on his personal learning and development he went through under the late freedom fighter.
The book is edited by Cainan Pamei, Shillong.
Tamenglong Baptist Church pastor Dilu Pamei, Pune Naga Baptist Church pastor KC Dindu and well-wishers attended the release programme.
