Duyo Tamo elaborates on KVIC's flagship programmes

Duyo Tamo, Member (NEZ), Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has informed of the major achievements of KVIC in the recent past under its flagship programmes like PMEGP, SFURTI etc.
He elaborated about the flagship programmes while speaking to media persons during a press meet held at Manipur Press Club today.
Duyo Tamo stated that the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Program is a flagship programme of M/O MSME, Govt of India implemented by KVIC as a nodal agency wherein 1547 units were established in 2020-21 with financial assistance as margin money of Rs 58.84 crore.
During 2021-22 upto December 11, 2708 projects have been forwarded to banks, out of which 429 have been sanctioned by the banks so far with MM support of 14.68 crore, he added.
He further informed that a State Level Workshop was conducted on December 6 in Imphal to gear up the scheme.
He also spoke about two functional clusters of SFURTI namely Ningomthong Reed Cluster Imphal East, which cost Rs 315.75 lakh and benefited 316 artisans and Traditional Embroidery Cluster Khongjom, Thoubal which have benefited 450 artisans.
He continued that another cluster has been sanctioned for Mao Beekeeping Cluster, Senapati and four proposals of Manipur Khadi and Village Industries Board (MKVIB) have been cleared by KVIC in PSC meeting and forwarded to the Ministry of MSME for final sanction in SSC meeting.
Duyo Tamo also mentioned that presently there are four Khadi institutions implementing Khadi program in Manipur and they have been provided with tools, equipment, training, working capital, marketing infrastructure etc under Khadi Reform Development Program of KVIC.
Regarding Honey Mission, he added that 100 bee boxes will be distributed among bee-keepers of the State.
