FPS agents ordered to distribute 10kg rice

Imphal, December 13 2021:
In connection with a petition filed to the High Court of Manipur regarding irregularity in distribution of rice allocated by the central and state governments, the Court has directed Fair Price Shop (FPS) agents to distributed 10 kg of rice to each of the petitioners.
The petition was filed by Th Sushila and 11 other petitioners, mentioning DC Kakching and 4 others as respondents.
On Saturday, a hearing of the petition was conducted in the court of Justice Lanusungkum Jamir via video conference.
After listening to the submissions of the petitioners, the Court directed the petitioners to collect their quota of rice (10 Kg each) for May and June from the FPS agents concerned, while also directing the District Supply Officer to distribute the 10 kg quota of rice to the petitioners through the FPS agents concerned.
It further observed that if a ration card holder demands his/her entitled benefits, the FPS agents must provide the same.
The Court then fixed the next hearing of the case on January 31, 2022 .
