An "Anti AIDS Campaign" was conducted by Logtak Brigade under the aegis of Red Shield Division at LCM School, Moirang, Bishnupur to spread awareness about the disease the local youth of the area.
Also, the members of the District Medical department extended their full cooperation in making the event a grand success.
Around 400 students from local educational institutions and approximately 200 members of various NGO's involved in the drive against AIDS were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the issue the Commanding Officer 16 MARATHA Light Infantry, who was also the chief guest on the occasion emphasized on the human touch while dealing with the HIV cases and also on the importance of saving our future generations from this deadly disease.
Dr LH Liensang, District Medical Superintendent, Bishnupur, Dr L Iboton Singh, District Aids office, Bishnupur and Mr S Alexander, District supervisor spoke extensively on the subject Anti AIDS material were also distributed to spread awareness among the youth.
The army initiative on the issue was well appreciated by the elders and the intellectuals of the surrounding area.
