Imphal, May 27 2014:
Terming the total black out in Imphal area during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony yesterday as an 'anti-national activity,' the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Mor-cha, Manipur Pradesh has pledged to conduct a probe on the matter to find out the truth.
Addressing media persons today at the BJP office, Nityapat Chuthek here, BJYM Manipur Pradesh president O Malesh Singh said it was regretful that the historic moment of Naren-dra Modi taking oath as the Prime Minister of India was missed by Imphal residents due to power shut down.
He said it amounts to 'deprivation of citizens' rights.
The swearing-in ceremony attended by around 4000 people including key leaders of SAARC countries was telecast live on different TV channels.
Unfortunately, there was power supply disruption when Modi was about to take the oath.
The power supply was resumed minutes after the Prime Minister took the oath, he said.
Malesh also pointed out that there was similar case of power shut down when Narendra Modi addressed an election meeting at Langjing before the LS poll.
As such, viewers were debarred from viewing the campaign which was telecast live by ISTV and Impact TV.
He asserted that a probe would be conducted on the matter by the BJYM Manipur Pradesh to find out the truth.
