Drugs worth Rs 35 lakh seized

Drugs worth Rs 35 lakh along with a cash amount of Rs 1,72,090 were seized by the police from an individual after raiding a house at Lilong Kaleikhong today.
Acting on specific information, a police team of Lilong PS conducted a raid at the house of one Md Sagir Ahmed alias Abo (26) S/o Md Abdulhei of Lilong Kaleikhong near NH-102 and seized 12800 N-10 tablets, 1,06,907 SP capsules, an electronic weighing machine and a sum of Rs 1,72,090 from the individual today, said a statement issued by the PRO of Police department.
It is said that the police team led by OC-in-charge of Lilong police station RK Brinda, currently on MPS probation, raided the house of Md Sagir acting on a reliable information and seized the drugs.
The police team also seized a Tata truck (NL-01K-1862) suspected to be used in drug smuggling.
The members of the Anjuman Islah-e-Muashrah, Lilong assisted the police in the operation, the PRO acknowledged.
A case has been registered at Lilong PS and investigation is on, it added.
In an unrelated incident, police teams of NAB-PS seized 8880 SP capsules from the unauthorised possession of Md Amar Shah (20) S/o Iliyas Ahmad of Thoubal Moijing Makha Leikai, Thoubal district today following a specific information, the PRO statement added.
The man was arrested from Chingmeirong Khongnang Ani Karak, near City Hospital along with the SP capsules.
The seized drugs are valued at Rs 90,000 .
A case has been registered at NAB-PS and investigation is on, it stated.
