JAC, family call for public support to trace missing man

Imphal, May 27 2014:
The Joint Action Committee (JAC) and family members of Irungbam Irabanta, a missing contractor, have called for public support to find out his whereabouts.
Irabanta, a contractor/supplier of Maphou Dam, went missing after he set out for Ukhrul in a Maruti Gypsy from his rented house at Porompat near JNIMS on May 27, 2012 .
Talking to media persons at Irabanta's Porompat residence here today, Convenor of the JAC A Radhamani said that Irabanta has been missing for the last two years, but the authorities concerned still could not find his whereabouts.
He had gone to Ukhrul along with one Winner (30), s/o Ranshing Tangkhul, and he was reportedly kidnapped by NSCN (IM).
The JAC along with various other civil organizations had called state-wide bandh on several occasions demanding all concerned to trace Irabanta.
But so far, no organization/outfit has made any statement regarding Irabanta, she added.
Irabanta's wife Modhubala said that she is desperate to know whether her husband is dead or alive.
Any individual or organization connected with her husband should make it clear why he had been abducted or killed.
She and her family cannot simply live without knowing his whereabouts.
She appealed to all to render support to the JAC and her family members in the efforts to trace the whereabouts of her missing husband Irabanta.
