Security steps for President's visit

As pre-emptive step in view of the high profile maiden visit of the President of India Pratibha Devising Patil to Manipur on March 10 security measures have been tightened along with round the clock deployment of security forces at strategic locations.
To ensure that the President's visit passes off without any glitch, a police team under the supervision of DSP (IW) S Ibomcha carried out frisking operation of passers-by in the periphery of the Raj Bhavan this afternoon.
In all 19 persons were detained briefly for verification of identities and other relevant procedures.
according to the police officer frisking and checking as well as search operations would be intensified at various locations till the arrival and departure of the President of India.
