Free health camp

The Women Action for Development (WAD) in partnership with Action Aid with the support of ECHO organised a one day free health camp at Excellent Modern Academy, Ukhongsang village, Thoubal District, Manipur.
Following a series of awareness generation programmes held at different villages of Thoubal District, Manipur which aimed to disseminate importance of the project entitled "Humanitarian Support to People Affected by Conflict in Kashmir, Manipur and Andra Pradesh of India", WAD has been organising a series of health camp.
WAD has already organised health camps at Heirok Part-II, Umathel, Khangabok and Santhel.
The purpose of the health camp is to create a better awareness of psychosocial care, diagnosis of mental illness which is generated due to protracted armed conflict and communal or ethnic conflict in the State of Manipur.
The health camp began from 9.30 am and went up to 4 pm.
During the health camp, WAD was able to mobilize 194 patients including women, children and youth.
Patients from Nongpok Sekmai, Ukhongsang and adjourning villages were examined in the health camp.
