New High School building inaugurated

Imphal, June 25 2014:
A newly constructed High School buil-ding was inaugurated today at Moirangpurel, Imphal East district under Andro A/C by Education Minister Moirangthem Okendro.
The new building of Moirangpurel High School was constructed under RMSA.
Education Minister M Okendro, Andro A/C MLA Th Shyamkumar and Education (S) Director H Deleep attended the inaugural function as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, Moirangpurel High School Headmaster Menjor Singh said that the school was set up as a primary school in 1954 before it was upgraded to the status of a Junior High School in 1980 .
Then under active initiative of MLA Shyamkumar, the school was upgraded to a High School in 2010-11 under RMSA.
In his speech, M Okendro assured that there would be no shortage of teaching staff in Government schools where there is healthy strength of students.
So far 205 Junior High Schools have been upgraded to High Schools under RMSA while 800 Primary School teachers have been promoted to Graduate teachers.
Notably, Moirangpurel High School is the first school in Manipur where nigh class is conducted for underprivileged students of the locality and surrounding areas.
