Imphal, June 25 2014:
Taking strong exception to the Government's failure to find any clue to the murder of Bishnupur Police 2nd OC Mayengbam Krishnadas of Kwakeithel Mayai Koibi, a large group of people today blocked roads passing through Kwakeithel Mayai Koibi today.
M Krishnadas was stabbed to death by some unidentified person(s) at around 9 pm of June 21 .
Meanwhile, the JAC against the murder has called an indefinite general strike in Patsoi Assembly segment with effect from 4 am of June 26 .
Strongly condemning the same murder, a protest demonstration was also staged at Sangaiprou Kabui Khul today.
Speaking to media persons today, JAC convenor Mahindra said that the aggrieved people were forced to block roads by the State Government's total indifference to the murder.
The Home Department's complete silence even after a police officer was murdered in the most brutal manner has raised a serious question on whether the Government is shielding the murderer(s) .

To put to rest all the people's suspicions, the murderer(s) should be booked at the earliest.
Until and unless the murderer(s) is/are booked, the body of Krishnadas would not be claimed.
Moreover, an indefinite general strike would be imposed within Patsoi A/C from 4 am tomorrow, Mahindra said.
JAC joint convenor Takhellambam Sobita decried the Home Minister's inaction and she even accused him of being biased.
In case the Government fails to crack the murder case at the earliest, there is no guarantee that there would be no serious repercussions.
In the event of such untoward incidents, the Government should be held accountable.
Noting that the people who ransacked the Chief Minister's residence were pulled up within two days, Sobita asked what is hampering the Government to hunt down the culprits involved in the murder of a police officer.
It would be better if the Government introspects and act accordingly before the murder triggers a chain reaction.
Sobita also urged the relevant State authorities to close down liquor vendors located in front of Sangaiprou Kabui Khul.
On the other hand, people of Sangaiprou Kabui Khul staged a protest demonstration at the village today against the murder of Krishnadas.
Speaking to media persons by the sideline of the protest demonstration, Sangaiprou Kabui Thoubei secretary K Abung while strongly condemning the murder, demanded immediate booking of the culprits.
This particular incident should not be a cause of straining the cordial relationship shared between different communities.
People of Sangaiprou Kabui Khul would take part in the course of action taken up by the JAC constituted against the murder for the sake of justice.
Saying that there were two/three cases of abandoning dead bodies after they were killed somewhere else, Abung appealed to all not to repeat such abominable acts in future.
Earlier, bandh supporters blocked the road by putting timbers and bamboos across the road.
They also burnt tyres on the middle of the road.
They also tried to burn down liquor vendors located in front of Sangaiprou Kabui Khul but they were prevented from committing the arson with the timely arrival of police and IRB personnel.
