Jiri bridge inspected

A team of Jiri Development Organisation (JDO) led by its president M Hemanta Singh took stock of a damaged bridge located at Islamabad, Jiribam today.
Almost 70 per cent of the pillar has broken and fallen into the gorge.
Based on the results of the visual detailed inspected by a team of Jiri Development Organisation that the pillar of the bridge requires immediate maintenance work for the safety reasons of people and the vehicular movement.
The bridge which is located in the village of Islamabad was 5 to 6 km toward the southern side of Jiribam town and the road on which the bridge laid was connected the village like Champanagar, Berabak and so on.
Ironically, the local people of Islamabad blocked all the loaded four wheelers to pass over the bridge, as the bridge was in pathetic condition.
Due to the blockade, normal life of local villagers to the other side of the bridge was affected as well as its faced lots of problems by the students those who were going to school by the school buses.
