Meritorious students of Thoubal, Tentha feted

Imphal, June 25 2014:
Several students of Thoubal and Tentha A/C who secured 80 percent marks and above in Class X & XII examination 2014 conducted by BSEM and COHSEM respectively were felicitated during a function jointly organized by DESAM Thoubal unit and Wangjing Unit council along with Tekcham Ongbi Inaobi Devi Memorial Trust at Waikhom Mani Girl's College, Thoubal Okram today.
The function was attended by Dr Ng Bijoy, MLA of Khurai A/C and Chairman of Manipur Pollution Control Board as Chief Guest; LC Santosh, advisor of DESAM as President while P Dhanakumar Singh, Chairman of BSEM; Sarangajit Khundrakpam, secretary of COHSEM; Okram Chaobi Devi, principal of Thoubal College; Dr O Ibeton Devi, principal of Waikhom Mani Girl's College; A Mobi, editor of Manipur This Week and Tekcham Nandalal Meitei, principal of Vision Creative School of Sciences as Guests of Honor.
Speaking at the function, Dr Bijoy stated that students should have good foundation in order to become successful persons in their future lives and be a part of collective human resource which is needed for the betterment of the society.
He said that schools should be equipped with adequate infrastructure and facilities to ensure that students are provided with all necessary facilities.
He also exhorted the students to take active part in extracurricular activities including sports for enhancing their physical and mental capabilities.
A total of 40 Class XII students and 3 Class X students were awarded with certificates, mementoes and simple gifts.
