ASHA trainers' training programme

The third round 6 and 7 Module five-day training programme for district level ASHA trainers kick started at Female Health Worker Training School, RD Wing, Lamphelpat from today.
Sixty two participants from nine districts of the State are taking part in the training programme.
Speaking at the opening function as chief guest, State Mission Director of National Health Mission, Dr O Ibomcha said that ASHA workers must be competent just like doctors in giving treatment to patients.
As such, they need to read lots of books and consult experts, he added.
ASHA workers must be punctual and work with dedication, Ibomcha added.
ASHA State Nodal Officer Dr K Usha said that the issue of 'gender violence' would be mainly focused in the training programme.
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare RCC W Imo also attended the function.
