Prizes of Scholarship Test given away

Prize distribution function of the 6th State Level Scholarship Test conducted by the State Educational and Research Centre (SERC) was held at Hotel Classic here today.
Altogether 33 students including 30 consolation prize winners were given the prizes.
Thangso Baite, MP of Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency and Heigrujam Nabashyam, Social Worker and SERC Advisor were respectively chief guest and guest of honour of the ceremony presided over by SERC president and Managing Director of LRS India Dr..LRobindro Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Thangso Baite, while appreciating the contributions of SERC and LRS India in the educational field, also urged the two organizations to provide career counseling to the students of hill districts of the state.
Although Manipur has a Central University and a Central Agricultural University of its own, a number of students of the state are going outside for study, the MP said and added that the efforts of SERC and LRS India in guiding the students for admissions to various courses are appreciable.
Saying that this is a competitive world and students should not waste their valuable time, Heigrujam Nabashyam appealed to the students to acquire additional knowledge by making use of the internet and digital media.
He also asked the students to be punctual and studious to become successful persons.
As it has become a knowledge-based society nowadays and students have to take part in international competitions and work hard to excel in their respective fields, he continued.
