Joint survey
Source: The Sangai Express
Imphal, June 25 2014:
Works Department and Forest Department would conduct a joint survey on whether trees growing along Tiddim Road between Keishampat and Malom which is set for expansion would be felled or transplanted.
Due procedures for the joint survey have been initiated after Works Department sought permission from the Forest Department to remove trees growing on either side of the road along the particular segment.
The survey would determine how many trees would be affected and whether they should be cut down or transplanted.
Strangely, Government machinery have already started felling and uprooting trees from the particular segment of Tidim Road.
