Lamka, June 25 2014:
The medical team, who was sent to Suangphuh village after four villagers tested positive for malaria last week, has returned and reported that no new case of malaria was found in the village.
Churachandpur CMO Dr Thangchinkhup said that the team has returned from the village with over 120 collected samples and no sample has been tested positive.
"Nevertheless we shall remain vigilant as cases of malaria usually peak during this time of the year", he said.
The CMO added that another villager from Leijangphai tested positive for malaria today.
The State Malaria Officer and his Malaria Consultant have reviewed the situation along with local officials yesterday, the CMO added.
He also urged the authority concerned to enhance the stock of anti-malaria medicines - both oral and injections.
