Interaction programme on "Joint survey of Revenue and Forest Departments" held

Central Forest Division today organised an interaction cum awareness programme on "Joint survey of Revenue Department and Forest Department" at Gwaltabi Community Hall in Imphal East.
It was attended by Forest Minister, Th Biswajit; Lamlai AC MLA, Kh Ibomcha; Saikhul AC MLA, Keimniyou Hangshing; Forest Department PCCF, Ak Joshi; CCF, L Joykumar; Imphal East Deputy Commissioner, Kh Daina; Central Forest Division DFO, Rk , Amarjit; Swombung SDO, Surma Thiyam; and Central Forest Division ACF, Siba Vani among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Th Biswajit stated that the interaction programme was organised to sensitize the public on the joint survey conducted at Khamellok Gwaltabi Reserved Forest under Sawombung Range.
He also appealed to the public to support the survey to ensure proper demarcation of boundaries.
"As per records, there were only 7 villages in Khamellok Gwaltabi Reserved Forest.
But there are about 45 villages at .present in the area", he asserted.
He urged all concerned to respect the Indian Constitution and not encroach in the Reserve Forest area.
The Minister further appealed to the public to express their grievances and give feedback to ensure that the survey is conducted successfully without any interference.
