AR units organise lecture programmes

Phundrei Battalion of IGAR (S) organised a motivational lecture on "Efficient use of plastic and its effects on the environment" at Don Bosco School, Sugnu on Saturday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the awareness campaign was addressed by environmentalist Rohan Agarwal, who has been walking for the past 650 days through different states to spread aware ness on sustainable living.
The lecture encompassed merits of using plastic and its need but also the solution for, using it efficiently and recycling it.
The students participated in the discussion with high motivation to conserve resources in life, the PRO said.
Meanwhile, Loktak Battalion of IGAR (S) conducted a lecture and demonstration on rain water harvesting at Sendra village in Bishnupur district on Saturday.
The event was conducted to generate awareness on scarcity of water in the environment, various aspects of rain water harvesting and ways and means to enhance the ground water levels.
The locals were also briefed on means to save water like closing the taps after use and judicious, use of water for washing, cleaning, etc.
