Free heart disease detection camp held

Dimapur, June 18 2022:
Shija Hospitals and Research Institute (SHRI) and National Health Mission, Nagaland j ointly organized a one-day free heart disease detection camp for children aged 0 to 18 years at Civil Hospital, Dimapur under the aegis of Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) today.
During the camp, a total of 43 children from Nagaland were screened by the experts, said a press release by SHRI.
The screening camp provided free consultation and free echo screening to all the registered individuals.
ASD Device Closure, VSD Device Closure, PDA device Closure, and open surgery cases were detected during echo screening at the camp.
These children will be treated at SHRI under the RBSK Scheme.
It may be noted that RBSK is a National Rural Health Mission program that aims at early identification and intervention for children from birth to 18 years who are diagnosed with Congenital Heart Defects (CHDs), Cleft lip and Cleft Palate, Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH), Congenital Cataract, Congenital Deafness, Retinopathy of Prematurity, Otitis Media, Dental Caries and Vision Impairment, added the release.
