TUs to apprise Delhi on Highway Protection Force

Represen-tatives of the Coordinating Body of Trade Unions, Manipur are all set to leave for New Delhi to lobby with the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister for deployment of Highway Protection on National Highways which connect Manipur with other States of India.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, chairman of the coordinating body L Sotinkumar said that a 10-member delegation including representatives of motor owners and transporters would leave Imphal for New Delhi
on May 16 .
They would call on the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister on May 17 and May aged parents and the young children.
Then 38 years old Angom (O) Chanbi and her eldest daughter Maneka then 16 years old was called out by some 18 and urge them to set up Highway Protection Force, ensure early completion of Imphal-Jiribam highway development work.
The delegates would also seek intervention of the Prime Minister as well as the Union Home Minister for reducing number of police check-posts on the highways of Manipur and also to compensate for the casualties suffered by drivers/transporters and vehicles burnt by anti-national elements on the highways.
Convenor of the coordinating body Ksh Santa said that they would draw attention of the Government of India so that strict instruction is given to the BRO to the effect that the Imphal-Jiribam highway development is completed without any further delay.
