13 AR extends medical aid

Tamenglong, May 12 2013:
The 13 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Senapati Brigade of Red Shield Division on 10 May 2013 conducted a free medical camp at Tousang village under Military Civic Action Programme.
Source from 13 AR said that the camp was conducted at the request of the villagers of Tousang village which is a remote village not connected by any motorable road.
A medical team of Tamenglong Battalion Assam Rifles led by Captain J P Saikia, RMO trekked for over six hours carrying all medicines in the heavy rain to reach the village and conduct the medical camp.
Medicines were given to the patients after the examination/consultation.
"This medical camp was the fourth such camp that the unit has conducted in the last one month in various villages of Tamenglong.
In this Medical camp, a total of 222 patients were treated.
The camp was a huge success and was conducted from early morning till late afternoon to enable patients to attend the camp who had come from far villages like Tousang Khunou, Nungnang, Leisok, etc.
