With unprecedented heavy pre-monsoon rains making the condition of Tamenglong- Khongsang road to turn from bad to worse, one goods laden truck (Registration no.MN01-7681) has been washed away in the mudslides occurring at various points of the road which has not known maintenance for the last many years.
The incident occurred at Sangrungpang village yesterday while the goods laden truck was heading towards Tamenglong District HQs.

Issuing a joint statement in this regard, Mathiusang Panmei, Chairman of Joint Forum for Transport Welfare and G.Rajanglung, Secy.
Info/Pub of Joint Forum for Transport Welfare informed that the Forum has visited the accident spot and extended every necessary help.
The Forum said that the failure of the district administration to extend any help and leaving the truck driver and the handyman to their own fate is condemnable.
On that fateful day, all the trucks carrying APL rice and BPL rice got stranded and spent the night waiting for clearing of land slide.
But with no help coming from the side of the district administration, members of Women Society, Sangrungpang came out with spades and made every possible effort to clear the mudslides so that stranded trucks could proceed ahead, the joint statement of the Forum said, while conveying gratitude to Sangrungpang Youth Club and BRTF as well for lending their hands in clearing the mud-slide.
