Imphal, May 12 2013:
Alleging that no development programmes have taken up for the welfare of the people even after 12 years of Congress rule in the State, Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress (MPTC) has asserted that Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh led Congress government is thinking only about organizing political conferences and thus ignoring the problems being faced by the people.
Talking to media persons in the office of the party at Hotel Excellency here today, Kim Gangte, President of MPTC pointed out that there has been a number of drug smuggling cases, rape cases and many other related crimes in Manipur today.
But still the Congress led government has not been able to give justice to any of the victims.
The law and order in the State has also completely failed.
Under such conditions, it is high time for the Home Minister to resign on moral ground.
She went on the say that the level of corruption in Manipur under the Congressled Government has increased tremendously.
"No poor person, howsoever talented he/she may be is, has the chance of getting a job for himself/herself to their own satisfaction.
The price of essential commodities is also increasing at a fast rate and this has created more problems to the common people.
But in spite of all this, the Congress led Government has not come with certain strategies to solve the problems of the people.
Instead of that, the Congress party is showing keen interesting in conducting political conferences and giving false promises to the people.
This is indeed a case of cheating the people", the MPTC President contended.
Highlighting the problems being faced by the people, Kim Gangte pointed out that people in Manipur are getting hardly 2 to 3 hours of power supply in a day even though the Chief Minister has promised to provide 20 hours of power in a day.
She also stated that there is not a single Minister in the Ibobi led Congress Government in the State who is bold enough to admit his/her fault.
Further, she charged that the bureaucrats in Manipur are not doing any work for the betterment of common people, but only acting at the wishes of the MLAs and the Minister in power.
"So, it is high time that the people teach the Congress Government a lesson before it's too late", she exhorted.
