World Mental Health Day 2021 observed at various places

As observed across the globe, "World Mental Health Day 2021" was also celebrated in the State on Sunday to spread awareness on mental health and advocacy against social stigma.
CHURACHANDPUR
The National Foundation for India (NFI) organised an awareness building campaign on mental health today at Mata Mualtam village, Churachandpur District.
As per our correspondent, the event held to mark the occasion of World Mental Health Day 2021 was organized under NFI with the support of the European Union and as part of the project, "Leaving No One Behind: Building Pathways for Peace in the North East via engagement of Civil Society and Youth Leaders" .

The awareness programme was inaugurated by N Lian Cin Khup, Chief of Mata Mualtam village.
A talk on Mental Health was delivered by Chingbiakhoih from Nest, a Lamka-based NGO, and Nemy Tombing, Founder, Mental Health Conversations.
The session was followed by a Focus Group Discussion around the Roles and Responsibilities of Individuals and CBOs on ensuring mental health and safety in the community.
The programme concluded with a pledge from the participants to be champions of Mental Health in the future.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of World Mental Health Day, Churachandpur Sector under the aegis of IGAR (S) organised lectures on 'Importance of Mental Health' at multiple locations in Churachandpur, Bishnupur, Noney and Pherzawl Districts.
The lectures were organised to raise awareness on various types of mental ailments including Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, OCD etc, said a statement of IGAR(S).
The lectures covered a variety of mental health issues particularly in the light of COVID-19 scenario and the remedial measures to cure them.
KANGPOKPI
Indian Psychiatric Society, Manipur State Branch also organised a mental health awareness programme cum mental health camp on the occasion of World Mental Health Day with the theme, "Mental Health in an unequal world" at LM School, Sapormeina.
The programme was attended by Dr S Manikanta Singh, Dr Lamkhoneng Haokip, CMO Kangpokpi as presidium members.
During the programme, Dr K Shantibala Devi delivered a lecture on common mental health problems in the society.
A total of 110 persons attended the health camp and availed the benefits of treatment and free medicines.
TAMENGLONG
44 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 22 Sector/ IGAR (EAST) in collaboration with Tamenglong District Hospital staff organised a one day health camp for the road construction workers at Sangrupang village, Tamenglong district.
On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, a similar medical camp was organised at New Mandu village, Tousem Sub Division, said a release issued by PIB Defence Wing.
Six doctors including three female doctors conducted free health check-ups and distributed free medicines to the beneficiaries.
A total of 150 villagers were benefited in New Mandu.
91 patients were examined at Sangrupang Construction Camp.
On this occasion, Covid vaccination of the workers with facility for on-spot registration was also carried out in Tamenglong Sub Division.
During the event, the unit CMO delivered a talk on mental health and related issues to the medical camp beneficiaries.
He stressed upon raising awareness and spreading education about mental health issues among the society at large.
