Pourabi farmers not to pay crop share rent

Lainingthou Puthiba Thousil Kanglup cum Development Committee Pourabi has announced that landowners of farmlands of Pourabi village cannot take crop share rent (Lousal) from the farmers this year as they have decided not to give the rent due to crop failure.
In a release, Lainingthou Puthiba Thousil Kanglup cum Development Committee Pourabi stated that a resolution in this regard was taken during a meeting chaired by Committee's president K Kalachand on Sunday which noted that farmlands of Pourabi are facing drought with standing crops severely attacked by pests.
The government attention was drawn to the problem of unavailability of water for farming by the village task force earlier in mediaalso, it added.
The Committee decried that so far no help has come from Agriculture Department.
Due to this, the crop yield has been very less.
So it has been decided that no crop share rent should be demanded from farmers this year, it reiterated.
