Free health camp conducted

Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra, Chingmeirong organised a free health camp cum distribution of first aid kit today.
The camp was organised as a part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative of the Government of India to celebrate 75 years of Indian Independence.
The Free Health Camp included BP, Sugar and general health check up.
The second highlight of the program was the distribution of Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi first aid kit to senior citizens who are of 75 years and above.
The event concluded with a Paricharcha (discussion) on Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi medicines.
N Rimotkumar Meetei, state drug controller, Medical Directorate, Dr L Sarat, Senior Medical Officer, ART Centre Churachandpur and H Devendra, Programme Executive All India Radio Imphal, attended the event as presidium members.
N Rimotkumar talked about the benefits of Pradhan Mantri jan Aushadhi medicines and their cost effectiveness.
He also appealed to the Government Kendras which are not functional at the moment to be more active so the common people can have access to easily affordable Jan Aushadhi medicines.
He further talked about the government initiatives to promote Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi medicines to the people by encouraging more private parties to open more PMBJKs.
Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra , Chingmeirong also distributed free surgical masks to those who visited the store today.
The Kendra also distributed free sanitary pads to women of menstrual age as a part of the programme.
