Imphal, October 10 2021:
Reacting to reports published in some local dailies over objection raised against its participation in the reception accorded to BJP national president JP Nadda, Churachandpur-based United Zou Organisation (UZO) has contended that the UZO group that denied involvement in welcoming Nadda is not a bona-fide organisation.
In a memorandum addressed to JP Nadda, UZO general headquarters information and publicity secretary Dailianlal described as fortunate to welcome the BJP chief on October 9 during his two-day visit to the State.
Stating that the de-facto group operating under the same name and style as UZO is being led by one Chinlunthang, secretary Dailianlal asserted that UZO is a constituent member of Zomi Council comprising nine Zomi tribes.
Further stating that the de-facto group has no locus standi to own and claim the name UZO, the secretary also dismissed the objection raised against his organisation extending warm welcome to JP Nadda as an attempt to tarnish reputation of both the UZO and the incumbent Singngat (Singhat) MLA.
