Medical camp, security meet conducted

In continuation of its sustained efforts & humanitarian aid towards local populace, Loktak Battalion of IGAR (S) organised a medical camp at M Songgel village in Churachandpur district on Saturday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the camp was organised to provide the medical assistance to locals who have no access to basic health-care services as well as to raise awareness regarding personal oral hygiene, sanitation and vaccination to fight against Covid-19 .
The Assam Rifles team carried out checkup of more than 90 people and administered them with basic medicines, said the PRO while adding that individuals with symptoms of severe ailments were referred to District Hospital Churachahdpur for detailed check-up and treatment.
On the other hand, Keithelmanbi Battalion conducted a security meet at Lilong Company Operating Base in Thoubal district on Friday during which locals were sensitised and updated on current security situation existing in the area and measures being taken by Assam Rifles in maintaining peace and tranquility in the area.
The meet was attended by village representatives including headmen and village authorities of nearby villages, the PRO informed, adding that an interaction session was also carried out on necessary measures required to be undertaken by locals in synergy with Assam Rifles for maintaining a strict vigil against illicit activities in the area specially extortion and smuggling.
