Nadda opens 'Thambal Shanglen', CM counts feats

BJP national president JP Nadda, who arrived on a two-day visit on Saturday, inaugurated a new office of BJP Manipur Pradesh on Sunday morning and named it Thambal Shanglen'.
Chief minister N Biren, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda, Manipur election in-charge Bhupendra Yadav, union ministers of state RK Ranjan, Pratima Bhaumik and John Barla, Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba, Ajay Jamwal, Sambit Patra, BJP office construction committee chairman and works minister Th Biswajit, education minister S Rajen, agriculture minister O Lukhoi, CAF&PD minister Satyabrata, BJP secretary organisation Abhay Kumar Giri, and Rajya Sabha MP MC Mary Kom also attended the inauguration function apart from BJP MLAs and ex-MLAs as well as intending candidates.
Addressing the gathering, Nadda said that the newly inaugurated office will be a place for working out policies for public services and it will remain open 24x7.He hailed former union minister Th Chaoba for acquiring and reserving the land plot where the party office stands today while noting that it is located in a strategic location.
Th Chaoba, who played a crucial role in reviving BJP and bringing a BJP government in the state, handed over the land document to JP Nadda on the occasion.
Chief minister N Biren said that the BJP government has been able to bring remarkable development in the state in the last four and half years.
As a result, peace has prevailed in the state and the recent success of six Manipuris in the UPSC examination was an outcome of the peace and tranquillity the state is ex periencing lately.
People can have a sigh of relief with the benefits of various welfare schemes of the Central and state government reaching them directly.
As the election approaches, the party workers need to go door to door and remind the public of the good works done by this government and find out anyone left out so that they could be provided the benefits, he said.
There is no high or low in BJP as it treats all the members equally.
The party's ideology is based on equality and the party president showed it through action by having lunch at the house of a booth president at Utlou.
It was the first time in the history of the state's politics and such down to earth nature attracts many people to join the party.
The new saying in the state is every street and corner is filled with lotus, Biren said.
Highlighting various projects taken up by the government with the support of the BJP government at the Centre, Biren said that survey for a 25 km long elevated highway has been completed and the survey report will be sent to union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari on Sunday itself.
Once sanctioned, he will urge Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the state and lay the foundation stone, he added.
Earlier in the day, JP Nadda had an interaction with people from the intellectual circle of the state at City Convention Centre, Imphal.
National award winning personalities, Olympians, artistes, academicians and bureaucrat officers attended the interaction programme.
Chief Minister N Biren, union ministers of state RK Ranjan, Pratima Bhaumik, John Barla, Rajya Sabha MPs Leishemba Sanajaoba & MC Mary Kom, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra, national general secretary BL Santosh and other party leaders also attended the programme, during which several cultural programmes were presented by different troupes.
