Imphal, November 25 2015:
The All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) has appealed to leaders of both the warring camps of Aimol tribe to retract their stands in order to restore peace and normalcy.
In a statement, secretary, publicity of AMUCO S Jameskumar Singh reminded leaders of both camps that the inter-tribe conflict will sow the seeds of chaos among the coming generation of the Aimol tribe.
It is also clearly evident from the past experience in Manipur that clash inter community or ethnic, never contributes to the good of the society.
It was also very unfortunate that such ugly inter-tribal clash among the Aimol tribe, one of the smallest tribes of Manipur with a population of less than 8000, will result in the loss of lives, AMUCO said.
It also appreciated the spirit of the Aimols in preserving their identity- culture and language, even after proselytising to Christianity.
AMUCO further said that the Govt should take all possible steps to remove the insecurity complex of minority tribes.
The Govt should stop ignoring the problems of the minority communities.
