EWA, Moreh celebrates rising day

Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association, Moreh area celebrated its 9th rising day at the helipad ground, Moreh today, our correspondent reports.
Colonel AP Manoj, CO 11 Assam rifles, Moreh; N Pulindro Singh, chief advisor, Meitei Council, Moreh and Jangmang Haokip, chief of Moreh graced the celebration as chief guest and guests of honour respectively.
Rev NK Lal, Pastor, MELC said the invocation.
In an apparent reference to recent violent incidents at Moreh, Colonel AP Manoj, during his speech, called for unity and amity among different communities living there.
He further urged the youth to take part in the Army recruitment rally to be conducted at Leimakhong after two-three months.
Delivering the welcome address, Ch Holkhomang Mate, chairman, Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association, expressed disappointment with the attitude of the AR personnel posted at Moreh check posts towards community leaders.
The association chairman further urged community leaders to report to the association in case security personnel pose any hindrance while travelling along Imphal-Moreh road.
