59th CC Meet Football to begin from Dec 2
No qualifying rounds; winner to get Rs 5 Lakh, Rs 2 lakh to runner

One of the most prestigious football tournaments of Northeast India, popularly known as CC Meet, the 59th Sir Churachand Singh KCIS, CBE Memorial Football Tournament 2015 will kicked off from December 2 at Mapan-Kangjeibung Imphal, said All Manipur Football Association's (AMFA) Secretary L Ranjit Roy on Wednesday.
During an interaction with media persons at AMFA office, Mapan Kangjeibung, Ranjit Roy said that this year's CC Meet Football tournament will have no qualifying rounds.
In previous years, it was divided into qualifying rounds and final round but in this year's tournament, 21 teams will play at knock out basis and will complete the tournament before the occasion of Christmas, said Ranjit Roy and added 18 local clubs and three other clubs from outside Manipur will participate in the tournament.
The matches of the tournament will be held at Mapan-Kangjeibung and Khuman Lampak Stadium.
Unlike previous editions, the winner of the tournament will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh while Rs 2 lakh will be given to the runner-up.
